FAQs
General
What is an eFoil?
An eFoil is an electric-powered surfboard that uses hydrofoil technology to lift above the water’s surface, allowing riders to glide smoothly with minimal resistance. It consists of a board, a mast, a hydrofoil (underwater wing), and an electric motor powered by a battery. The motor is controlled via a wireless handheld remote, enabling the rider to control speed and maneuverability. Efoils are typically used for recreational activities, offering an exciting, quiet, and eco-friendly alternative to traditional water sports.
Is it easy to learn efoiling?
It is easy to learn. Even with no previous board sports experience, most people can learn in less than one hour. Lessons are available at your nearest JetWave school or you can learn by watching our tutorials.
Can I try before buying and where?
Yes, of course. We always recommend customers to book a test ride before purchasing. You can go to our Locations page to find a nearest test ride point, a JetWave school or a dealer to book it.
Which size of board should I choose?
When selecting the right board size, consider your riding skills, weight, and intended use - whether for personal, family, or commercial purposes. For personal and family use, we recommend the 100-litre volume boards, such as the Carbon 100 and Air 100. If you're an experienced rider seeking agility, opt for the Carbon 75. Heavier riders should consider the Air 150. For commercial use, we suggest the Air 230 and Air 150, with the option to add the Air 100 for experienced customers.
How old do I have to be to ride the board?
Before riding, you need to check the local regulations and make sure to comply with them in your area.
Normally we do not recommend to use the board if you're under 14 years of age, and during your ride it has to be with adult supervision.
Is a licence or registration required to ride the board?
Please check your local regulations for age and legal requirements. Licence regulations vary from state to state and country to country.

Boards
What are the materials used for the boards? and how are they made?
JetWave Carbon Series are made from high-quality carbon fiber, which is known for its strength, lightweight properties, and durability. Carbon fiber layers are precision-molded and reinforced with advanced resins, creating a stiff and responsive board. This construction enhances performance, allowing for better control, stability, and agility at high speeds.
JetWave Air Series are crafted from durable, military-grade PVC materials, combined with drop-stitch technology. This technique involves weaving internal fibers to create a rigid, inflatable structure that maintains its shape under high pressure. The result is a lightweight, yet strong and impact-resistant board that provides excellent buoyancy and durability, making it ideal for beginners, family use, and commercial applications.
Both boards are engineered for resilience and performance, with construction methods that prioritize strength, durability, and rider experience in various water conditions.
Is the battery cabin compatible to the whole Air series boards?
Yes, it is.
What is the difference between the Carbon series boards?
The only difference is the size, volume and color option. For details you can refer to the specs.
What are the differences among the Air series boards?
The main difference are the size of the board rings and the color options. Besides, only Air 230 supports scooter handle bar.
Are the boards repairable in case of damages?
Yes, all the boards are repairable. However, we recommend to find specialist to repair the carbon boards while for the air boards you can try by yourselves with our repair kit.
Are the damages covered by warranty?
JetWave provides 3 year warranty to cover damage caused by defects in the materials or workmanship of the product only. For the damages occurred in use, it's not covered by the warranty.
What shall I do to store the board?
Ensure all sand, grit, dirt, and salt residue is rinsed off with fresh water and fully dried. Apply a silicone-based, non-solvent lubricant to the latches and hinges, avoiding the deck grip to prevent a slippery surface. Place your board in the provided bag and store it in a clean, dry environment, away from direct sunlight.
eFoil Power Modules
What are the main differences among the three power modules: 60A, 75A and 80C?
The main differences are the length and material of the mast. The 60A is with 60cm aluminum mast, the 75A is with 75cm aluminum mast, while 80C is with 80cm carbon mast.
The rest parts are all the same.
In terms of performance, the 80cm carbon mast provides better rigidity.
What is the power of the motor?
JetWave adopts 6KW motor, which is the most powerful eFoil motor on the market.
Can the power modules 75A and 80C be used on Air 230 scooter?
It is compatible but not recommended due to the performance. Considering the size of the Air 230, it's difficult to maintain smooth efoiling with 75A and 80C modules. By default, we equip Air 230 scooter with 60A power module.
Are the mast, motor and jet propulsion replacable?
Yes, they're featured as modular design. You can easily change them according to our tutorials.
How often shall I maintain the power module?
According to our warranty policy, we recommend to do a checkup and maintaince of the power module every year. For more details, please check our warranty policy.
What shall I do before storing the power module?
Make sure all sand, grit, dirt, and salt residue is thoroughly rinsed off with fresh water and completely dried. Apply contact cleaner to all cables and reapply WD40 to all screws.
Batteries and Chargers
What are the main differences between endurance battery and performance battery?
The main differences are the capacity, the weight, the charging time and the rated life cycles.

Are the batteries compatible with all boards?
Yes, they're compatible with all boards.
What are the differences between the fast charger and super charger?
The main difference is the power output. Fast charger has a 1200W output while the super charger supports 3000W output.
Is it possible to take the batteries on the airplane?
Unfortunately, electric vehicle batteries are not allowed on passenger aircraft. However, depending on the route, it may be possible to ship the batteries separately via a dedicated cargo plane, or by road or sea transport. Please check carefully for the right shipping method and you can go to the download section to get the necessary documents for the shipment.
How shall I take care of the batteries?

JetWave wings are made from high-quality carbon fiber, a material known for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, stiffness, and durability. The carbon fiber construction ensures that the wings are lightweight yet strong, offering enhanced performance, stability, and responsiveness in the water. This material choice allows for precision engineering, making the wings highly efficient and capable of delivering smooth, controlled lift and maneuverability.
